HOUSE Yarra Glen Pinot Noir 2021

What a wonderful find this is. A gorgeous, richly flavoured Pinot from a tiny producer in the Yarra Glen subregio nof the Yarra Valley. And under $20. Deep, dark cherry/plum, and wispy hints of oak lead the way to a rounder full palate, layered with dark berry, chocolate and spices. This really is terrific drinking now, and over the next 3-6 years too.

Oakridge Willowlake Vineyard Pinot Noir 2018 375ml

Fragrant and spicy with freshly picked strawberries and red currant fruits, hints of forest floor and sweet spice. Whole bunch notes just hover in the background.

The palate is soft and juicy, vibrant and fresh with delicate silky tannins and a fine line of acidity holding it all in place. The red fruits and rose water cascade through the mouth interwoven and balanced. Fresh finishing and lip smacking. Devine!

The Blue Label chardonnay was made with premium hand picked grapes, from selected local vineyards in the Yarra Valley. 2021 was a great vintage yielding fully ripe grapes with great balance of acidity. Complex and varietal. Aromas of honeysuckle, deli meats and malt with hints of green pineapple and ginger. Background sulphides add a further layer of interest.Textured and balanced. Classic restrained Yarra Valley Chardonnay, with great texture and fruit weight to boot. Fruit comes from a small, elevated vineyard in the Kangaroo Ground on the western side of the Yarra Valley. Expect aromatics of white peach and lemon pith, and a nutty cashew flair from some nicely handled lees.
